V-shaped Mountain Home Inspired By The Classic A-frame Cabin

Located in Aspen, Colorado, this retreat features a rather unusual and intriguing structure with a pattern inspired from classic A-frame cabins. It was built in 2022 by Studio B Architects. While non the merely unconventional detail nearly this project, the V plan does describe attention.

This setup was created equally a result of the owner'due south want for privacy and for a strong human relationship between the house and the garden and courtyard spaces. This decision allowed the architects to organize the spaces into two main volumes: the day zone and night zone. In between them stands the family room.

Past pushing the program to the edges of the site, the architects as well pushed the volumes closer to the neighboring properties which ways a stronger bail between the sites and a double orientation which allows the two volumes to frame beautiful views of the mountains and at the same time to share a strong relationship with the interior courtyard and the garden. Within, the house is bright, warm and very welcoming, featuring cozy window seating, congenital-in article of furniture and a palette of colors and textures which suit each room perfectly.
